Your opinion - Do you think R is a "rice boy" car?
Very interesting, one of my friend seems to think R is a "rice boy" car. Well, given that he knows R is a fast car, he thinks all the cosmetic (spoiler, mod... etc) make it "rice". Just wonder what other Rs owner think, and I am also interested in what other non-R owner's opinion too.
I say no b/c everyone knows have rare the car is and thats the way it comes from factory. Its the GOD of the street scene. Everyone wants one or wants to beat one.
Anyone that calls the Type R a ricer car should be shot. Plain and simple.
Well said NYTR. How ignorant can some people be?! Sheesh!
Integra Type R= Affordable, world-class sports car.

I think I qualify to answer this question as I own both a Mazda MX6 (Japanese) and a BMW M roadster (European car, where the comment of rice boy is usually being flamed from)
"NO, I do not think TypeR is a rice boy car."
Both of my cars are 100% stock and I don't think there's anything wrong or "rice" about it with modifying cars just for the look. Hey, everyone has different priorities and tastes. Some ppl claim they only do performance mods but not many can even extract all the potential of a "stock car", so why bother putting on all those so-called "performance mods".
I sometimes see BMW with badly modified parts: clear this, smoke that; chrome this, strobe that; and with wings u would get from a F14 tomcat fighter. <--- real fxxking ugly $H!T if you ask me.
But that's just my opinion, maybe he really likes his car and thinks the guy in a M roadster next to him has a real bad hair style and taste in cloth.
I repsect what ppl do to their cars. I might or might not like it but i think the modivation behind is (usually) positive and for the love of automobile.

Hey, I got ppl came up to me telling me I got a ****-mobile.

and saying R is a "all show no go" just kinda make me
that's why I want to know what your guys think of R.....
I'd say no, but I can see that people could make the mistake. With all the yoboy civics and accords with type-r stickers, when you see a car from the factory that is a type-r you might just assume its some yoboy with some stickers.
yes, the R is a ricebot. Its loud and a car what many people tune. i think all import cars that are modded are rice.
You have to ask yourself what a rice car is. Cmon, its not in the dictionary. Is it so wrong that our cars are rice?

If we're rice, then what are the people with big wings, stickers, exhaust, bodykits, etc?
Heres a good link on the subject: http://www.riceboypage.com
This is rice:

"What sets apart Rice-Boys from normal performance enthusiasts is that they are more concerned with the image of speed than they are about actual performace. "
hahha some can argue all they want, all boils down to personal taste. But it can be argued our cars come with pre-packaged rice. Red emblems, faux carbon fiber trim, white wheels, huge spoiler, STICKERS
etc. etc....
etc. etc....
Honestly, IMO, the Type R is a riceboy's wet dream. Why else do riceboys put R stickers on their cars and all the R lookalike parts that they can get?
The car itself is fine (except maybe for the wing), but the image that it gives out is where the problem is. Everytime I drive mine on the street I get every bumpkin in their Thunderbird and every riceboy in their fixed-up honda trying to race me. It gets old after a while.

The Type R isn't rice. But I think the name "Type R" has been desecrated (sp?) by
all the riceboys who've put a "Civic Type R", or "Accord Type R" sticker on their cars. You see it so often, that it begins to lose it's meaning. True import enthusiasts know what Honda's red R stands for, it's not just a sticker someone can put on a car.

Does that R have NOS about the Integra Type R Logo?? If so thats just is rice. But I don't really call a car out of the factory rice. But hell most people call Japanese cars Rice Rockets. But I don't care. Rice to me is when its more about does all my colours match then will my car run ok down the road today. But domesitic been called lead sleds back in the day. But they got ton's of nicknames for Fords and Chevys and Chyrslers and Dodges. Like Mercs and BMWs because not many young people own the high dollar Merc's and Bimmers there called coffin dodgers basically euro term car for the elderly or senior citezen. I guess rice is whatever someon deems as Rice...as there's probably a from for rice on every car even Porsches and Ferrari's..I've seen some strobed up ones!
Hey but if he's getting money from havin that sticker I wouldn't mind it. I say if your getting paid for it do it. But if not there not much of a point to doing it.
