thinking about running this to squeeze out some more HP from my all motor setup, anyone using it? any gains noticed? any engine performance changes? do they last?

Just a quick note, electric water pumps are not meant to be used on the street. The can't flow enough fluid to keep a car in traffic cool. If it's a pure race car or just driving it around at night with mostly driving you should be able to get away with it but if you had heating problems before don't rely on an electric water pump to cure anything.
