Default S2k as Daily Driver (in snow country?)

Are there many people who use their S as a daily-driver in regions where it snows? I am debating on whether or not to use the S as a year-round car, or to use it strictly for summer and nice weather only. For financial reasons, keeping two cars may no longer be an option, so I'm wondering how some people traverse through the winter.
thanx

I don't really beleive any rwd only car is good for snow. If you get 3 months of snow out of the year, I think you'll be much happier with a WRX or another AWD car. I've driven fwd in snow for quite a while and didn't have many issues. I've only driven my s2k in snow once, and will probably never do it again.

S2k's are really fun in parking lots in the snow though

The S2000 is a great winter car. I drive mine year round, I use Michelin Pilot Alpin snow tires in the winter. No hard top, couldn't justify the price. Don't listen to sissys who will tell you it's a death trap in the snow, the car can handle it just fine. With the right tires.

I'll never understand why people are so afraid of RWD and snow. People drove predominatly RWD cars for well over 60 years. No traction control, no ABS, no big deal.

I guess if you have money for an extra set of rims and snow tires, then go fot it. I don't though, and don't want to give up my handling in the months of no snow. I would really call myself a sissy for not wanting to drive it in the snow, with s-02's, s-03s, or really any non-winter tire, it's just not safe. People drove predominantly RWD cars for that time period because the market was predominantly RWD. I don't personally know anyone that would rather have a RWD car in snow than a FWD.
Anyway, Daveg27 is right that it can be just fine in the snow, but don't let him boost your confidense in it at all. It is definitely not a "great" winter car, I'd have to say it's one of the worst winter cars on the market (given you get ice in the winter)

Honestly the Alpins are not that bad for grip. They're as good as cold SO2s on cold pavement so you're not really giving anything up as long as it's cold ( <30 degress).

The S2000 with snow tires is the most capable winter car I've ever driven outside of 4x4 tucks. I've driven many cars (Jetta, Fiero, Buick Regal, Ford station wagons, Grand Prix SE, Maxima, SHO, Mustang, Contour) in the snow so I'm speaking from some experience here. The S with snow tires was easily the best. (and most fun!)

Jolt-tsp is correct though, don't overdrive the car in the winter! The relatively low weight of the S2000 means that it can still slide pretty easily if you're not paying attention. All my comments are based on the cars capabilities, not the drivers. In other words, I'm assuming that the driver knows how to handle a RWD drive car in the snow/ice. If you don't then it's not the car that's going to get you in trouble.

Got banned again Steve? I didn't really understand how rwd has more control in slick conditions...
