Default b16a2 with a gsr crank?

i was just wondering , i have a b18 crank and i was wondering if it would go right into my b16a2? the crank has been shot pinged, balanced, and micro polished and it keeps the 1.771 main bearings. so would it go in??

you would need custom rods to make it work. the deck height is different from the b16 block to the b18

im not sure if its a gsr crank or an ls. but supposebly i was told it would fit because it keeps the same main bearings.

if youre not sure what it is, how are you going to buy the right rods for it?

ls and gsr are both different and both "longer" than a b16's stroke.

you will be running a much shorter rod to compensate the extra stroke of the gsr crank... i wouldn't bother. there are better ways to make power.

Look at Lisa Kubo she runs a B16 block sleeved and bored to 89mm which makes it a 2.2 but she still has the B16 rod ratio.......... HIGH REVS</TD></TR></TABLE>

b16 with 89mm bore comes out to 1925cc not even a 2.0, you cant sleeve a b series past 87mm and only NA cars go that big. Lisa is running a 2.0 liter custom stroker B16A, single turbo (http://www.nhrasportcompact.com/2002...rs/l_kubo.html)

As I mentioned on AIM you will need a custom rod made, the pistons need to have the wrist pin correct also, may only apply to an LS motor where a long rod is used to make the R/S ratio better . The B16A deck height is 7mm shorter than the B18A/B and B18C motors so you can't put the crank in and those rods the pistons would be above the deck. When you get custom tods the Rod to Stroke ratio will be AWFUL. The B16A is 1.74:1, the GSR/ITR is 1.58:1 and the LS is 1.54:1 I believe. The B16A will rev high and still make power but sacrificing low end torque due to the stroke, if you went with the LS crank and shorter rods I think your useable power range would be lowered alot, thisis speculation only. I think you will make power lower in the rev change and top off quicker lets say 7K rpm which would not be good for a VTEC motor, any other engine GURUS wanna respond. Good luck bro.
