I am shopping for a 215-45-17 because mine blew out. the one i am thinking of buying is soft. it cost $89. the treadwear on it is 380 and temp A and traction A. however, when i felt the compund that made the tire, it felt soft and i can twist the treading a little with my hands. My main concern however is if the soft sidewall might cause problems being that the tire is low profile. I was wondering if this might cause my rims to get damaged if i hit a bump or something. another possible concern i may have is that if i get a flat, the sidewall of the tire might tear.
I am on a tight budget, but i was just wondering if these were detremental concerns.
