JDM ITR WHEELS....
Hey guys, I'm thinking of swapping my stock 15" CW ITR rims for the 16" JDM ITR Rims (I don't care if its gunmetal or silver). How much would it cost and how would I get those?? How much do stock ITR rims weight compared to JDM ITR rims?? Since I have a CW ITR, does the gunmetal rims look better that the white?? Its either that or 16" OZ Supeleggeras, I heard those were light as well and they look awesome!!
Anyone know how much those weigh and also how much they cost?? Do you guys hear any good things about them, and is it true that having 17" rims on an ITR is not good for the suspension, so get 16" if anything?? Sorry for the whole bunch of questions guys, but I really wanna know all this when I'm swapping my rims. I wanna consider all my options. Thanks so much guys,
bEn.

Good choice on the JDM wheels. I prefer CW on CW because that's the way it's supposed to be and as far as weight goes I've read on honda-tech that the JDM 16" wheels are about 16lbs each.
I've seen JDM wheels range from $850-1000 depending on condition.
They are 1 pound heavy but since I had 215-40-16 instead of oem 215-45-16, it feels quicker acceleration plus lot more stable at high speed over 100mph then the oem 15's.

IMO ....forget about the JDM ITR wheels ...to heavy ....and to big ....find yourself a lightweight set of 15x7's ....no need for heavy 16's ....when some nice featherweight 15's will do the job RIGHT

well then if its for looks ....get a wheel that has the best of both worlds .....some 16x7 Mugen MF-10's .....forget about those heavy JDM wheels .....
yes .....17's are that bad when pertaining to performance ....limted tire selection , not to mention expensive .....narrow sidewalls = stiff , unforgiving sidewalls , when pushed to the limits ......even a light weight 17 will have more rotational Interia that a 15x7 or 16x7 ... = more metal mass that needs to be rotated , more power it requires to turn .....
15x7 will have better acceleration, handling , braking .....
get some 16;s if you plan on getting a big brake kit .....but IMO ....some SS brake lines ....and race/street brake pads will do the job correctly ....
or get some 2 piston caliper NSX brakes , and stick with 15's

SSR Competiton 9.6 lbs ....to 315 per wheel ....

By the way, get whichever set of wheels you like best.
Don't worry so much about weight. At least, don't worry about it so much unless you're running in a series where you're trying to win and need the weight advantage.

I just don't wanna lose performance and handling, yet still want 16" rims that are nice, too bad the supeleggaras don't have that size. I would love 17"s if our car could take it and not degrade performance or handling.

there is no way your car is faster with 16's unless the tires you had on the 15's were falken azeni's or something super heavy.
remember, its not just the weight of the wheel, but where the weight is and how far it is away from the center...
case in point, my 9lbs volk ce28n's were lighter than my hx wheels, but the hx wheels still allowed the car to be faster because the weight of the wheel was concentrated more towards the center.
of course the tire choice is also important...but with similar tires the smaller wheel will almost always be faster.
