you should be able to contest it, then you'll get a court date. you don't have to have an attorney. you can represent yourself, but you should come up with some really good questions for the cop who gave you a ticket and be able to prove that you did not deserve it. is it a law in nj that the cop has to show you the radar reading when giving you a ticket? if not, then you'll have a harder time proving your innocence. if he pulled you over at the same time as someone else, you could maybe question how he knew that you were the car doing 68. i got halfway out of a ticket once (they lowered it to 7 over instead of 14) because the state trooper couldn't explain how she knew for a fact that her laser gun was 100% accurate. don't bank on the stupidity of the cop, but you may luck out.

just represent yourself. if you don't want to appear in court, just claim innocent and do a trial by declaration. you will still have to post bail, but if you win the case, you get all your money back. good luck.

Just wondering, how can a cop pull over two cars at once?

follows both cars and with lights screaming pull over on the loud speaker.

seen it happen before when an acura and del sol was racing one time on beach blvd.

by the way, if the cop was coming from the other side of the street (when he was facing the other way if this is what you mean) you won. because its impossiable to rader you from the other side of street . the cop must be on the same side of street. been there and done that. judge threw out

Tampa pd pulled over 3 of us @ the same time, there were 2 cop cars, and I didnt think in time to dip right away as they both were out of their cars and they were parked a good 10 feet away from them. But yea, busted all 3 of us for illegal u-turn.

not really, when i saw the one incendent, the del sol was pulling over but the acrua was ready to gun it, but the cop told the del sol to stay and went after the acura. but if you pull over first but the other guys leaves, you might be in luck to take off and get away with it. only if cop does not have your license number
