Mine has between 2-3 gallons left when its at the bottom of the E. Maybe the sensor is just really old and can be replaced ?

 

Check your local Honda dealership for the TSB (technical service bulletin). I know the EG Civics have a TSB that requires placing a set new set of shims behind the gauge needle so it reads F when full, E when empty. The shims are $6.26 each.

My ED3 gets 400/tank highway, 330/tank combined highway/city, and ~270/tank city only.

 

my EX goes through fits of working fine and not working fine.....when im full im at 3/4s......

when im on E i have another 1/8th tank left

 

Do you have after-market guages?

 

This is the exact problem that Honda's TSB is written for.

 

for EFs? i have an 90 ex sedan

 

Thanks a lot guys. I think maybe it's the sensor in the tank or the needle when you replaced it.
