Car/Tranny/Drive Train/Brakes/SOMETHING LOCKED
My car will NOT ROLL. I just finished a B16A swap. My battery is dead as I expected since it had been sitting out for a while. So I go to try and roll my car back down the drive way to where we can either jump or kick start it. And it won't budge. I take it out of gear... already out of gear. Okay... push the clutch... clutch is in, shifter in neutral, no budge. Shift linkage is hooked up right, I try disengaging the clutch by pushing it on the tranny, no budge. All I can think is maybe the brakes are locked up?? How could that be? We didn't touch the brakes on the car at all during the swap.
Anybody have ANY ideas why my car won't move at all? TWO of us tried pushing at the same time and the car slid across the floor because there was a greasy tarp under the wheels. Didn't roll, though. I am confused as heck about this one.

The pads and rotors could have rusted together. I have had it happen after sitting a few months, especially if it is rainy. Generally just engaging the clutch with the engine running has been enough to break it free. I'd jack it up first and check it out before trying it though. Do you KNOW the trans was good? Did you see it rotate freely? If something in the trans it locked up, no rolling, no way.
If you jack it up and can get a little movement, the brakes are not locked but the trans it. If there is no play, then maybe in the brakes.

The brakes are in excellent condition. I drove the car into the garage and pulled the motor I had just driven the day before. The motor was replaced with a B16A that ran perfectly in a friend's car and was pulled in favor of an H22A. The motor ran fine right up until the day he pulled it, in fact it was considered one of the strongest B16As in the area. I admit I didn't try to turn the tranny while it was out of the car. I am going to try pulling the axles off tomorrow and see if the tranny will turn freely.
It is the front wheels that won't roll. Backs are fine. I don't understand what could have caused this, everything was tip top when I got it. Tranny and motor are both right on oil. Could as much as a bump while trying to mount the motor have fucked it up? I am so dismayed right now because my swap is now going on three days. This is getting ridiculous and I need to get on with my god damned life.

oh and clutch disk is what matches up with the car. I bought the engine/tranny together and know that the car had a good clutch previous to when I bought it since I knew the car that it came out of so I felt it unnecessary to install a new clutch in the tranny, and just left what he had in.
