I've asked before, and for every .01 you mill, you retard the cams -1 degree, and the crankshaft -2 degrees ?

too many problems if taking to a crap shop and a hack job done of it. and since it's not a serious amount being taken off, and the pistons and bottom end will be stock forever, and although it can't be reversed, a thicker headgasket CAN be put on....and this has already been done to the head.

back to the original question.....

Your best bet is to clay the motor, but with stock pistons, you should be fine as far as valve to piston clearance at 0,0. The thing is, claying the motor will tell you how much cam timing adjustment you have before valve to piston contact.

0,0. Clay the motor find your limits and remember them when you go tune the car.

so really no good way to run this car without claying the motor ?

granted i want to do things right, but i'm in over my head on the work i'm doing now. i'll look more into it, but if there is any rule of thumb for the cam settings......hmmm
