well i was thinking of some aftermarket cams for a b16a i got some skunk2 stage1s right now for a b16a thats getting built with ctr pistons and eagle rods. i havent tried the stage1s but a friend of mine wants to buy them off of me for a good price so i was kind of thinking of going with some toda spec bs or skunk stage 2s. what cams will sound louder at the vtec crossover i know the todas work more on the midrange, but a want some loud *** cams let me know what you guys got or use, will vtec sound loud on the skunk stage 1s as well?

 

So, your spending 800 bucks on.... the sound??? you could just download the sound, and play it next to your ear while your driving, then you get what you want... for cheap!!!!!

 

not just the sound but power gains as well let me know whats a powerful cam with 11.2.1 compression

I would go with Skunk2 stage 2's personally. Both these and the Spec B's have some pretty decent primary's so good midrange. That also mean's don't expect any "mad vtec x-over's yO!"

 

If you're looking for a louder crossover, you won't like the B's. They're silky smooth transition can't really be heard after tuning. They pull really nice though

 

from stock itr cams to JUN 3 cams, the loudness of vtec did not change at all. but the way the car felt is off topic

 

is it true toda cams make your 1.6 feel like a 1.8?

 

nope.... cams don't really add that much torque

 

i'd reccomend skunk stage 2 cams if your drag racing.. there just like the jun3 and much cheaper! i had skunk stage 2 cams on my b16 and that **** was loud it had a nice deep loud tone to it i wish i cud of recorded before it blew.. jun cams are really loud too..

 

I would recommend ef-1 M22's

I have the same cams and they rock!!! and if you want power with one hell of a kick when vtec hit..these are for you.and yes they make the noise you want

 

Definitely some EF-1's. Rocket needs to release some re-grinds for the h22!
