How to clear DOHC ZC with factory crx hood.
I'll sum it up with pics... too lazy to type.
Here you can see how high the motor sits.
Just get a dremel and cut away.
I used a small bit so it would be less of a chance to cut thru the hood.
Here is all you have to cut.
I ran without a timing belt cover too, but the hell with that. I hope this helps..

Good post!
But, rather than cutting crap, how about shimming the driver's side engine mount down with washers, or shimming the hood UP with washer underneath the bolts that support the hood?
EDIT: didn't see the topic two topics down

**** that- just put washers in the drivers side mount & use a longer bolt. I just did my ZC swap about 1 month ago, and I'm glad that I used the washers, why cut into a perfectly good hood?
i put a b16 in my crx and for like 2 weeks the hood wouldnt close right without it hitting the motor but the one day i let the hood go to close it and it closed right and it doesnt look crooked or anything....

I wouldn't recommend it. That changes your axle angle and when you start making any kind of power you'll have axle issues on that side.

I have been running and running hard exactly like this for 2 years with NO problems with my axels of any sort. And I have CAI, header, 2.5 catback and it runs like a strapped ape. You are shimming 1/4 inch for clearance not 4 inches.

All you need to do is to put a few washers on the driver's side mount. That IS the easiest way to solve that problem. Or if you want to go for a more Euro look, get a ZC hood. It has the bump so the cover will clear and not rub the underside of the hood.
