I am going to swap a ZC into my STD and I have a 5 speed tranny from a 91 lx. However, the place where I am buying the engine is supplying a ZC tranny with it.

I could save a few bucks if I dont take the ZC tranny but I wanted to know which tranny would be the better choice.

The lx tranny has about 100 grand on it and the ZC is probably more like 40-50 grand.

Is there a major difference between the 2?

 

The ZC tranyn will be a bit shorter, better accel, but then you'll need the ZC intermediate shaft and then use teg axles.
