ECU throwing a code 17, WTF!
just wondering if someone could help me out a little bit?
Just put a new battery in, at the big K parking lot and I was getting it on the way home. I was doing about 80 in 3rd and hit a bump when my speedometer fell to 0. 10 seconds later the check engine light came on. When I got home I checked my ECU, got the 17 flashes. My manual say's it's the speed sensor and for help it said to take it to the dealership. Now I know i'm not going to do that, so maybe you guy's can help me out...This just happened so my motor was still hot but it looks like my cable is still in tacked with the trans. Could it be a fuse? a relay?
Thanx

that bump may have loosen ur speedo cable
go look under the intake manifold..... on the tranny...
u will see this cable that comes from the firewall to the tranny....
make sure its in and tight.... also make sure u didnt loose the lil pin that holds it....
after making sure its in., reset ecu by removing the hazard fuse for 15 sec and u good to go , if the cable goes back into place

Also if that doesnt fix it pull the panel off that covers the back of your gauge cluster and check that the other end of the cable going into your speedo is plugged in tight.
