motor swap question.....
have a d16y8 sohc vtec motor in a 1988 crx would it be better to convert from dpfi to mpfi and wirer the rest of the motor up or buy a friends DOHC ZC motor with all wiring done just plug it in and go....he whants $700 for the zc motor.. which motor is better. and if i use the d16y8 can i use the ecu from the d16y8 in the crx or do i need a different ecu....

uhh from what I understand is that you have a spare Y8 laying around, but your friend is offering you a ZC for $700 (which is a rip off). Your car is already MPFI, so there is no concern for the DPFI -> MPFI conversion. ZC will be plug and play, but it's a much older motor vs the Y8, but the Y8 will require an OBD2 conversion which can really turn out to be a PITA. I'm not really sure of how much work it would take for an OBD2 conversion, but since you already have a Y8 laying around - don't fork out the extra money for an older motor.
