Default Took the hatch to the strip today...(b18c1)

I went to Carlsbad raceway today where it was pretty hot out, and I came back kinda dissapointed. I was hoping for low 14's, but here's what I got:
Best:
Reaction... .654
60 ft...... 2.399
330 ft... 6.438
1/8 mile.. 9.745
1/4 mile.. 14.944
mph... 93.95

2nd best:
Reaction... .714
60 ft...... 2.428
330 ft... 6.484
1/8 mile.. 9.796
1/4 mile.. 14.995
mph... 94.18

Best MPH: 94.36

Setup: 1991 Civic Si, 95 b18c1 running obd1 P72, Y1 tranny with OEM LSD, custom exhaust(dynomax turbo muffler and catco cat), 91 Si AEM CAI(piece now), a comptech 4-2-1 header, exedy clutch. I took the spare tire out too, but thats it.

I got 9 runs in and ran consistant 2.4xx 60 foots. I tried launching from 4-5k, and down from 2-3k and nothing would net me better 60 ft's. I know my LSD is working too becuase I leave 2 nice black lines down the road every now and then. There was a guy with a 92 hatch with a b18c (JDM) running 14.1 at 98mph, and all he had was intake/header and a mugen program. So I was pretty dissapointed, but I'll get over it. It was my first time at the track with this car and with a N/A car so I didn't really know what exactly to do.
Any comments/suggestions?

hommies right about the cat.. run it open header.. might kick you off the track.. but it might be worth it.

last time i saw someone side bolt the muffler he got kicked off too.. but maybe get a test pipe.. by pass the cat.. its a big draw back.

umm.. and your 60 foots wern't all that great. get some drag tires.. should help you out alittle.

u get me 2 15" rims that arent that expensive....
and ill give u a set of slicks..... that wya u can dump that biach up to 5 k and get traction....

IMO get some tires that give u traction..... dont go over 4 k outta the line, u wont get traction....
as soon as u drop those 60' times... u will get ur times..

try this:
.lower your tires psi to about 20 to 25
.reprogram you ecu right before you run
.have about a quarter tank of gas
.run on the high octan gas
.burn out before you run
.since you have a cold air intake take out the bumber lens on your passenger side soo you can suck in more air
.gutt out what ever you might not need
.have your heater running soo you engine cools down

oh yeah take a **** before you run, you and your car will be lighter..........

there's nothing wrong with the tranny. and just because you see two black lines that does not mean you have an lsd equipped tranny. but if it is an lsd trans and the lsd was not working you would not be able to drive it. my guess is that its an unfinished swap and that you need to learn how to drive. 2.4 60 ft with a gsr motor is simply not excuseable. i would consistently hit 2.2's with my b16 all day long, and that was on some of the shittiest tires you could imagine.

Agreed.. I can run 2.2s easily on shitty street tires with no LSD.. You're 60's are what's killing your 1/4 time.

simple, you were on the track almost 2 sec longer and that allowed you to build up more speed and therefore trap faster.

I was running on Kuhmo 712's at 25psi, then went down to 20psi. I didn't do a burnout before each run, I thought it wasn't nessessary for street tires. I tried launching down low, and up high, and either way it would just spin the tires. And my tranny has a stamp that says LSD on the top of it, so I know it's got one. I'm going to get some drag radials and do more weight reduction for my next visit to the track. Maybe it will be cooler out too. And I have a hi-flow cat converter. Thanks for all the help guys.

Is your track at high elevation? If not, there's no way a b18C1 should be so slow. Is the motor healthy? Tuned up? Definately chuck the cat and get a test pipe or a high flow cat. My B16 just ran 14.8@94.9 (with a 2.4 60' I might add) through a stock cat with I/E only, so you have a problem somewhere...

The track is at sea level. I haven't adjusted the valves yet or checked the timing, so maybe one of those are off. But otherwise I believe it's a healthy motor. I'm gunna do some tune up stuff and go back later on.

Yes, definately check the timing. Did you change the timing belt before? Maybe you installed it a tooth off. Adjust the valves, do an ignition tune up, and let us know.

yes I replaced the timing belt, and I'm sure I did it by the book - it looked perfect but I could be wrong. I will get back to you guys when I fix my problem. Thanks.

No problem, just make sure the two marks on the cam gears line up perfectly! Also, do compression test and or leak down test.

if it was off a tooth.. he wouldn't be on the track trying to see times.. on all my stock B16's, if they were off a tooth, it ran like absolute ****. theres no way my 13-1 B16s would Idle never the less be off a tooth. lol traction.

and doing a burn out on street tires is worth it.. not as much as good drags, or booooogies.. but they'll help, you ever seen tires really flex at the sidewall when they're hot? thats traction, laying the most rubber on the ground possible.. burnout=frition... friction=flex .. flex = traction.

traction is one of the biggest probelms in hybrids. i always thought i was the **** on Nitto 555R's, then the BFG came out (00 treadwear) vrs the Nitto's 100 treadwear... then.. i grew some *****.. hopped on some Bogart Star On Fly's.. 24X8X13's.. and sqeazed out the hole, 100 shot on fully built B16A 13-1. thats right.. 100 shot out the hole, 8K RPM.. speedshift on the bottle.

1.6-7 60"'s religously. life doens't get any better.

A "high-flow" cat isnt high-flow until it's hollow...lol. Gut that beotch. Youll see a difference. Nice looking hatch it's clean.

94 mph is good for a low 14 second pass with traction no problem. At least a mid 14 for sure. Drag racing is only a small part of the fun, If it were me I wouldnt worry to much about it, but thats just me!
*edit* ps, those tires suck, good street tires, but worthless for any sort of traction, believe me when I first got the JRSC I could just get on it in second and light the tires. Get something sticky on there like some azenis and you'll see some 2.2 60 foots no problem, and then you'll definately run a faster time.

PS Did you get it smogged with the swap? I have been dying to know! TTYL.
