b16 or b18
what's up everybody, i just recently got a 90 hb and i need some advice on what to do. i was thinking about either going b16 or b18. either motor that i get will eventually get turbocharged. i would appreciate if i could get some feed back on what to do and pros and cons on both motors. thank you in advance.
just from readin around it seems the popular and best one to boost would be the b18, hope that helps.. that seems to be the majority of opinions anyways, doesnt mean its the right one though
well.... i was tryin to figure it out too.... with the b18 and b16 both bone stock, it seems from my research that the b16 will pull a better 1/4 mile time.. i know a guy right now that has a b16 with lighter flywheel and DC header and is running 14.2 in his 89 hatch.... but the b18 has more potential in my opinion with mods... turbo is taken batter, and a b16 head on top of the b18 gives huge performance gains... it's just up to what you prefer really... performance now... or more performance down the road...... just my opinion
yeah that makes sense, but with the same mods and same boost, would one be better than the other in terms of reliability or reactibility(if thats a word)? cause they do have obvious differences in head and block. maybe one just loves or reacts to boost more than the other. i dont know we need a turbo expert now im really curious
