Are you going to get a SV1000 or what?</TD></TR></TABLE>
i dont know. still weighing all my options and looking at how finances will pan out. its tough cause i run the numbers and say "ok i will be in 5,6,7k more debt and what do i get for it? more power, more insurance, better handling, lower mileage" etc etc...really just weighing my options. got to make a decision on a house soon also. if i am sticking around here i am gonna buy a pad. might sell bike and go without for a year to get settled, then pick something up in mid 04.
for me, spending 6-12 months learning about just about every bike that i can go see and sit on and read about is a lot of fun. since i am not jay leno and cant just buy em all.

its 93 right now. it will be 98 today. not many twisties here in dallas. its not exactly motorcycle country around here in general. winter is ok for riding, but you really only get a few weeks in spring and fall when its ideal riding. i ride at least once every week of the year and its tough when its in the 80s at 2am and 100s during the day( late july thru mid september)

plastics/windshield:
rag dipped in carwash soap and water
then rag dipped in water to rinse
then quickly dry with a tshirt before the waterspots could form
forks/swingarm/chain cover/ muffler etc: wd40 on a rag (works great to get chain grease off anything including plastics)
engine: just sprayed it down with wd40 and wiped off what i could. have no idea how to clean each of those fins. looks really good for a long time with wd40 and takes about 90 seconds.

aside from the daily thunderstorms... i agree with you. i would move back if i could 1) live close to the ocean (my family lives too close the the swamp) and 2) could have my same/similar job and 3) could shoot on site anyone over 65 operating a motor vehichle.

only turns are at stoplights.
you can look cool on your bike and go fast in a straight line. thats about it. oh...and stunt.
edit- theres a nice sweeper on the sawgrass expressway but you could take it at 130 and barely lean. and thats a toll road too...sucks.

Yeah, I hate stunting, But I found some nice turns around. They still suck compared to other states. Oh well, *sigh*
Falcon, How the turns in Texas, Like the Houston area?

dallas prarie land. flat. few curves. lots of massive superslab highways. lots of on ramp racing for the yahoos that like trying to sport a race pose on oil slicked and dirty on and off ramp...you gotta get out of greater dallas to hit the country backroads which can be awesome, but the idiots with their loud pipes treat it like a racetrack and the cops come out and bust everyone on occasion. the stunters and fooligans dont realize the backroads are really for the people that live way the heck out there.
i am sure austin is badass being in the foothills, and houston is apparently good too. havent made it down that way yet.

here's an old pic when i was learning to ride. what am i saying? i am always learing to ride....
you can see i am stiff-arming the thing and not leaning forward. these turns got real easy and faster when i 1) leaned into the tank and 2) used the handlebar for countersteering instead of the deathgrip...i hadn't riding in a few years after my inaugural wreck...
o yeah i dropped about 30lbs since then - that helps too.
