Default Emergency break light stays on

Hey guys, I got a question regarding my emergency break in a '91 Si. This winter my car had been exposed to very low temperatures. One morning, I had trouble disengaging my emergency break but after I did it the emergency light still stayed on. It stayed on for quite some time, then it went off; the phenomena continued to happen for quite sometime but now its on whenever the car is on. My breaks don't make any noises and seem to be in a good shape, all my break lights are in good condition too. Does anybody have any idea of what's going on? At the beginning, I thougth that this behavior had to deal with extremely cold weather (30F below zero or so), but now its warm and I am running out of possible theories. That's it, appreciate your help!

The e-brake light on my old CRX would stay on too.... turned out to be a leaky wheel cylinder... check for fluid leaks. I replaced the brakes and wheel cylinders and it turned off. Also check the electrical plug beneath the center console...

does it turn on when you turn? or taking a hard turn? my guess is your brake fluid is low. check it.

Sounds like the switch that turns on the light when you open the door is bad. Don't know too much about it, but check a manual.

On the seatbelt thing, have you checked the latch wires? There are two wires that come out of your carpet and connect to the seatbelt latch, which tells the car if your buckled up or not. One may be loose. Or you could just cut them both and splice them together, that way you have your seat belt on all the time.
