Default my build so far...

well the b16 is a complete write off. i swapped the ls out for a b16 in my 91 teg. the b16 runs great for 3 days then spins rod bearing. i took pics starting the b16 swap and finishing but now it has turned into this. the ls/vtec saga begins. you hear all these people bad talking them and everybody always says ls/vtecs are good if done the "right way". well i hope mine is built the right way. heres what i got so far and here are my goals so far....

ls block: honed, decked, hot-tanked
ls crank: polished
ls rods: magnafluxed, reconditioned
ARP rod bolts: installed by machine shop
pr3 pistons: deburred
ACL bearings: std, brand new, thrust washers included
OEM head gasket: only using 2-layers
b16a head: drilled and tapped by machine shop, checked for warpage
gsr water pump: new
gsr oil pump: new
gsr timing belt: new
Hastings rings: new, std. bore
ARP head stud kit: p# 208-4306 the ls/v kit.
lightned flywheel by http://www.dh-racing.com (giving them the ls head in exchange for service)

i need cam gears, fpr, and some kind of engine managment as of now. i am not sure. i dont want to spend the money on converting to obd-1 and getting hondata b/c well i dont have the money. the old clutch will have to be left in as well as the ls tranny. after i get the cam gears and fpr and tune it a little i will purchase a new clutch and hopefully i will find a cable b16 tranny for cheap. i am hoping i will hit 170-180whp tuned with i/h/e. i know the stock b16 cams are killin me. i plan on buyin only a ctr intake cam again to keep the costs down. i will post pics today or tommorow.

what do you guys think?

Looks good so far. Like you said, you HAVE to find a b16/b17 cable tranny, using the LS tranny would kill the whole thing. Good luck doing that. Contact Cheetah on this board, he had one for me and he probably has one laying around.
