ok well i am just wondering if it would be better to put a zc motor in my car and leave the head, or put it in and bolt up my d16a6 head thats shaved and port and polished. because i also have a header and everything else to bolt up to the zc. any info would be great.

 

You can't put an si head on a ZC engine or vice versa.

 

he could be talking about the sohc zc
but chances are hes talking about the dohc which is not possible

 

no i am talking about the sohc zc motor, obviously it wouldn't fit on the dohc.the only thing is i would like to use my head seeing as how its port and polished and shaved, i could have this done to the zc but i would like to save as much money as possible.

 

they're basically the same motor, so i dont see why not

 

if your a6 head has the stock camshaft swap the camshafts the sohc zc camshaft is beefier.

 

isn't the sohc zc basically just a D16A6 with a better cam? are there any other differences? if i was you, i'd buy the ZC, swap in the cam, put your cam in the ZC, and re-sell it. you could come out of it for free, and have a few more hp. just be honest about the A6 cam being in it when you sell it.
