Default ITR tranny. Good choice with 400+ HP???

On a built car (400ish hp) with daily driving and the track in mind...

Is the ITR tranny a worth while investment. Either buy a $1200 ITR tranny (2001 15,000miles) or find a gsr tranny $600-800... then buy a $800 quaife.

Suggestions welcome. Thank-you-please

ITR until it blows, then buy a quaife for the ITR.

i would save th emoney and buy an si or gsr with a quaife. the type r diff will only last so long at 400whp on slicks and also it tends to spin only 1 wheel.

After your story I was thinking that the dif would have been the weak link.... I sure don't need to see a whole in the tranny after spending $1300.
