Default skunk2 camshaft settings

i was wondering if anyone knows some good settings for the skunk2 stage1 camshafts. i just installed them in my 2000 jdm itr engine with the skunk2 computer,i have the intake advanced 4 degrees and the exhaust advanced 2. it has alot more bottom end power but bogs down a little when vtec kicks in. also there's a clicking+scratching noise when i first start the car, sounds like it may be coming from the distributor, possibly where it meets the camshaft. any help or suggestions are appreciated. sorry if this is a stupid post

Make sure the rotor is in the distributor properly...

Are you just setting the cams according to the way the car feels, or are you using a dyno??? 4 degrees is quite a bit.

Reccomendations from Skunk 2 are:

16-17 BTDC ignition timing

Intake: 0
Exhaust: +1 or +2

Obviously a dyno is the best bet after installing cams to see where your power can be made.

i know that taking the car to a dyno would be best, but a friend(rainmanEK) who had a similar setup took his car to a dyno so i just copied his settings. also if the rotor on the distributor wasnt lined up properly the car wouldnt start up.....would it?
