What other model/year struts will fit a 2002 EP3?
I have been looking at what it takes to put in the Koni strut inserts on the front of the EP3. It is well within my capabilities, but I don't have the time to have my car out of commision while the transformation occurs. Plus I don't feel like forking out a fist full of cash for something I can do myself. So I want to do as much as posible before hand to lessen the down time. Can I use front struts off of another 7th generation model (EX, LX, etc.) since I am having problems locating used struts off of a 2002 EP. I have a line on a 2001 LX at a local yard if the stuts will work. Koni uses the sme model for all the 7th gen. civics, so I am guessing I can use the lower part of the struts from another car. Just would like someone to verify that I can do that.
First of all, if you want to try this, don't get the struts from a 2001 Civic. That year had the worse strut problems. If you're gonna go for it, get them from a 2002 or higher. They are a little stiffer and no one has had problems with them blowing on stock suspension.
So far as my knowledge serves me, struts are the same between the EP3, EM2, ES1 and DC5 FOR THE REARS.
I don't think anyone has tried to put on different front struts as far as I know, but if you don't find out soon, and you have to choose a non-Si Civic, make sure the struts are NOT coming from a 2001 model. DX, LX, HX, EXs are all the same - maybe even the ones off the 2002 Hybrid would work.

I hear where you're comming from but I won't be needing the whole strut, just the bottom housing. I will be installing Koni strut inserts so the factory strut internals will be yanked out anyway. My biggest concern is if physical masurements are the same. Things like steering arm length, attachment points, spring perch diameter, etc.
