Turbo R needs help!!
Hey guys, just got my exhaust welded, and i thought everything was going to be ok. However, the check engine light is on, and my car is idling really low. Also, at around 2-3 RPM untill i give it 1/2 throttle, it still sounds like there is a leak in the exhaust, but there isn't. It sounds like im still running open downpipe. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Why dont you find out what code its throwing, and if its a 3" exhaust its going to sound deep and noisey.

My dump tupe is just vented into the atmosphere. ( its just going down from the wastegate ). I Feel a lot of air going out of it. Could one of my vacuum lines be off?

just have the exhaust shop make a hole in the downpipe and weld on extra pipping into the downpipe, just make sure is at least 10inches away from your waste gate just incase of exhaust turbilance..also i would suggest telling them to make it a flange with bolts so you can unscrew it from the waste gate and downpipe. for you leak, check your manifold connection with the turbo...if it sounds like its comming from under the hood or waste gate to manifold...i know drag kits tend to have a problem with that sometimes.

open WG = loud and dirty!!...mine is nice and quite...nice R alumini block revving sound with a whriling in backround...best sound ever!
see pic...not the best the dumptube setup but it keeps the engine bay clean and the noise level down

Nice pic! I am still running open wastegate too, and it sounds amazing! The weird noise that was coming from the wastegate was because i didn't pre-set the mbc and the vaccuum hooked up to the wastegate from the mbc was causing it to make the exhaust noise. But, now its taken care of, and it sounds dirty dirty.
All i need now is a good tune, and a v8 next to me.
