Alright guys and gals,

VIR led the poll but due to its popularity, we will have to try and hit that one up in 2003 b/c we can't get a date, leaving Gingerman to be the location of the 2002 Expo. Now we need to pick a date and start working on the details and get the ball rolling. The sooner we can get moving on this, the better the event will be.

I guess I just realize that making this a success will take a lot of work, and I want to help Ken out as much as possible since he has done so much already. Also, I know how much work it was for Kelly, Faisal, Ross, Yoshi, etc., (they did an awesome job ) and I am in the position to help

I just want to ensure that this will be worth people's effort to attend

Looks like the ITR version of the EXPO is gaining some serious momentum for Round II in 2002

Plus, with Gingerman (being a little more centrally located) there should be a few more people willing to do the drive to get there, not to mention the possibility of getting some of the Canadian ITRs to attend.
I'm willing to help in whatever capacity I can, and I also think we should take Ken (nsxjr, ...) up on his generous offer of using his contacts with the track to secure a date et al.

FWIW -- my 032Rs survived both trips (back and forth) across the country as well as some punishing track days, and are still above the wear bars (for all of you that may have been wondering).

 

We'll all work together to make this event a success - tons of fun, and safe, too.

CGI is presenting our dates to the track and hopefully within a few weeks we'll get a firm commitment back.

Once we have dates, we'll start thinking about all the arrangements that need to be made, and figuring out who pursues what. In the meantime we can continue to discuss our ideas for activities at the event.

 

I truely appreciate the effort that certain individuals have put into organizing the next EXPO. My contribution would be the participation and absolute cooperation.

 

I would be more than happy to assist with the planning and execution of the event.

 

I would also love to help with the east coast 2003 expo..

 

If Gina will be there, I'm sure our attendance will be much higher.

I would ask that anyone who is thinking about helping to organize talk to Ross Olney (wizard), Yoshi, or one of the other organizers about the time commitment that will be involved. That way y'all can figure for sure if you really want to be an organizer. After a long talk with Ross on that Friday night, I realized just how much the organizers were forced to commit to make Expo '01 such a success. Make sure you're in it for the long haul! I wasn't planning to attend the next one, but I may just have to bite the bullet and show up!

 

Good points Gary. The nice thing is that Ken has a lot of the stuff taken care of due to the fact that he is going through CGI.

I'm sure I/We can convince her and a few other Mid-Atlantic ITR people to attend the next one in '02, since it isn't quite as far away as the last one! We'd have quite a bunch more JDM front-end cars that way too (CF hoods, show cars, maybe even Warren will bring his "beater"). jujujuju

Much like the last expo, everyone was gung-ho for it initially, then FLAKED as it came time to actually go!

Hope not. I am still up in the air, but if I go then I will hire a transport to take all the Nor Cali cars out there and fly. Too bad Bob has Finals

Looks like a date has been set near the end of MAY, and ... Michigan is considered to be on the North Coast (Like Cleveland).

 

I havn't been reading all of the posts about this expo and im new to the board ( i dont even have an ITR YET!). But as far as the event goes, if its 2 days long I say you should look into a local hotel and try to make some kind of deal for cheaper rooms for everybody if they all stay at the hotel.

I go to school at Western Michigan University which is about 30 mins from Gingerman. We go to South Haven beach (2 min from the track) all the time. I would like to help with whatever I can.
