"My Monster Block" (patent, no stealing ideas!)- questions regarding block/head on b20/b18head DART?
Whats up everybody? Just curious what everyone thinks of dart blocks? Good for the $$? They sound pretty bad ***- better cooling and oiling paths but still retains stock oil pan and fitment
Well anyway, im looking to build something pretty nutz in the next 6-7 months. (I start a new mechanic job this august -- $$) Anywhoe here is my idea (which has already probobly been done) , i want to run a (Dart) B20 long deck matched up with my gsr head. I want to stroke the block even more-- not sure what the max litre i can have the sleeves/walls bored out to??? Im not sure what compression i want yet, but im looking at the weisco high-swirl series for pistons. Of course i want everything heat treated with some type of ceramic coating. They dont make them for the b20 or any stroked motors, but im sure custom apps are available. As for rods, im not sure- maybe the x-beams?? ...something bomb-proof. I believe dart blocks are either eagle sleeved or darton sleeved?? I would like it to be a closed deck to handle massive amouts of boost!!! I would run a golden eagle lightweight crank, polished, and of course everything blueprinted and balanced. As for the ratios- this is my main concern... Loosing HP is very easy when experimental.
As for the head im going to go crower titanium springs and retainers with ferrea valves. Not sure about P&P, dosent really do **** on turbo cars. I might have the valves opened up a few mm's though. At least on the exhaust side of things anyway- to spool up the massive turbo I dont have yet. Well, for now ill just be sporting my 15psi. On my stock gsr block. Tell me if im crazy.. cause most think i am.
