Looks like it is intended to be used by repo guys and locksmiths, but I am sure criminals will have it also.

Why did you post it? It has been around for a long time. Now you are educating the thieves.

I did not know this existed. I prefer to be informed, rather than not knowing. In the Information Technology industry the same thing occurs daily. There is a bug, that allows a system to be hacked. Is it better to risk many systems being hacked and tell nobody about it. Or release the information, and risk hackers using it also?

There is not correct answer to this sort of problem. I hope that the company selling this item is responsible enough to sell it to individuals with a locksmith, and a business license.

No they are not.

This type of information is a need to know basis. If your in the security market then you need to know. If not it does you no benifit in knowing.

Same thing goes with the technology sector. If there is a program that allows access to your computer what are you going to do about it? Your going to rely on your firewall or someone else to block it. So in reality the only people that really neaded to know about it was the person protecting your computer and the person trying to get in your computer.

So posting this kind of info in a public forum only helps the person trying to get in your car. Knowing this information what are you going to do about it? Nothing, so did you really need to know?

True. I see your point.

Owning my car makes me responsible for it's security. I have one of the clutch/brake lock things. I bought it for $80 3 years ago. I have never opened it. It is nice to know that it may not stop a person anyway though.

The well educated criminal will find away around them anyway. The only thing we can do is hope that this is not the criminal that wants your car.

Time for a better mousetrap.

Yes it is nice to know these things but I think it is everones best interest not to educate the world about it. Every piece of security has a way around it, so the less that know the way around them then the more secure you are.
