Default Exhaust Questions

I was going to run a Spoon Header w/ test pipe and Apex n1 exhaust. And i know that the spoon header has 2.5" collector and the test pipe is 2.5" but the n1 cat back is 2.25". There inlies the problem. How do I make it work. Oh and isnt the stock diameter of our exhaust already 2.25 or 60mm whatever?
Any suggestions will help. Thanx

do you already have the test pipe? If so, you can just have an adapter flange made to connect the 2.5" to the 2.25" exhaust...I just got the same adapter for mine that I use w/ the spoon header...

contact Dave at SMSP and he can get you one...hope this helps

how do i get a hold of him and doesnt it cause bottle neck. did you notice a reasonable difference in both sound and performance. and do you know the stock pipe size.

well, I just got it in the mail today, should get it put on tomorrow...It actually removes the bottleneck in the stock exhaust that is right by the flange...

It will create a bottleneck unless you have a stright through 2.5" exhaust, but there aren't any available yet (bolt on at least, do a search for those coming out, i'm looking/waiting to get one as well)

Sound probably won't make too much of a noticeable difference, but performance should be better...usually removing the bottlenecks in the stock exhaust is good for a couple of HP...stock size is 2.25", but not throughout the exhaust...by the axle back section, it actually cuts down to about 2", and where it connects to the cat it is smaller than 2.25 as well....if you're gonna do this, either get rid of the bottlenecks or get a new exhaust (but for that you may want to wait for the 2.5's to come out) Hytech has a nice Mugen double loop style coming out....

contact him at SMS Products [smsproducts@carolina.rr.com] or 704-287-6739

he's very nice and very helpful...I'll let you know how everything turns out tomorrow....
