In each gear between 2800 and 3500 a consistant very high pitched but very silent beep/whistle happens when I touch the gas. Is anyone familiar with this sound.
I was advised to check my radio wires because my front speakers arent hooked up and may be touching some metal on the car.
edit: just took the car out for a spin and i noticed it sometimes makes a metallic grinding noise when i let off the gas in the mid--range RPMs... i can-t get it to do it every time, but it def. happened more than once.

Check the heat shield header and catalytic if you have one there.
Check for any interference with the cam gears. Does the sound occur at a stand still ie. revving the motor or only when the car is only in gear?

It doesnt make the out of gear. And it makes the same noise at the same points in each gear. What am I looking for on the heat shield header and the catalitic c.?

R's even with a stock intake will make a whistle sound, nothing you can do about it. If you don't like it then ya bought the wrong car
ITRs are a very noisey car- thats about it...

I've been in other ITRs and they don't make this noise that's why I'm asking these questions. Already, I'm doing a valve adjustment because I believe that's what it is and I know I need one. Meanwhile I'm going to check the cat. Anyway, I like the noise the ITR makes but not abnormal sounds...
Ive had 3 different intakes (AEM, stock, Comptech) and they all make the same sound you are talking about. It only happens at part throttle from around the rpm ranges you were talking about. Seems to be ITR related as a few friends of mine with SI's, GSR's dont have the same whistle noise.

I noticed however that the difference between the other ITR I was in had the heat shield and doesnt make the sound... I can try and make a video but I dont know if the whistle will be heard. If this is the intake is this related to when I let off the gas it makes the metalic noise. I had a 1.8 Civic before and the cat. shield was cracked and made a similar noise but the more I listed the more I'm convinced it's not it... I really have to look but the video will be up if it can be heard.
