the other i put in an intake my friend had laying around since his car was crash. i put it on and it sounded loud. i notice at 5500 rpm it kicks it louder, not like vtec but a softer version of vtec.. is this normal? sounds nice though

 

whats "loud" in your terms?

I have used both a short ram & CAI and both are noticeably louder than stock. I believe the shortram is louder than the CAI.

 

<u>All</u> intakes are going to be louder then any stock air box.
What you hear is it sucking air at higher rpms like when hitting vtec.
Dont be afraid that its something bad and it is very normal..

 

i have an GS tho, no vtec. i've had 2 different intake before i've had a cheap one no brander, AEM short ram, and now this one thats called CP or something. and this beats aem out of the water.

 

its just the car pullin in more air with higher rpms....but without a resonator box you can actually hear it quite clearly....its normal

 

yea my ls is like that, more noticeable in 2nd gear, when i hit 5k+ rpms it gets really loud.
