trying to decide which looks better on a milano red 95 GSR, a painted ITR lip or just a black ITR lip to contrast the red. Can I see some pics? Also...the ITR lip has like air damn on each side, are their lips out there that dont have any slits in them?

 

ITR lips don't have air dams on each side. post a picture of what you have.

There is a CW white ITR around where i live with a FBP ITR lip on it and it looks good with his black wheels too.

my teg is black and my itr lip and oem optional side skirts are red... this is just till i get her painted but it looks kinda neet

Paint it.
Unless somethings carbon fiber, if it's not paited it looks like every other non painted ground effects kit or Z3 fenders ricers don't paint for 6 months until they save the money.

 

leaving an ITR lip unpainted is like leaving a fender unpainted.. when u buy an ITR from the dealer, it has a painted lip.. i think this whole black lip and black hood trend was just some weird brainwashing.. people all of a sudden think having contrasting body panels and add ons looks cool? craaazy

 

God forbid somebody have carbon fiber body panels that aren't color matched, they might not win the next NOPI. I see you constantly ragging on people for having CF hoods/lips/etc that aren't painted, it's not brainwashing, it's personal preference.

For the lip, I say paint it dude, without question.

 

i didnt know that you could put the 98-01 lip on a 1995 gsr....or so comptechusa says...is this true?

just as you said.. MY "personal preference" is an OEM looking body, not a misinterpreted "JDM" trend with a bunch of aero track parts that dont help appearance being used for "show" ..sorry my opinions hurt your feelings people, its only the internet..

Far from it, your opinion, along with everyone else's will not hurt my feelings, as it's just words on a screen. But why does carbon fiber and "mismatched" or ghetto style body panels have to be considered "JDM style." Some people prefer carbon fiber hoods, lips, wings, that's the looks they like, doesn't mean they're JDM elitists. I agree, there are some that are trying to fit that profile, which is pathetic, but not all of them.

Then you have the jackass like me, that doesn't care about JDM, or bandwagons, or trends, but loves building his Honda that way he wants, cause he works hard for his money. My car is a ghetto hatchback with carbon parts here and there, but I'm not trying to be "that guy" that wants everyone to point and go "oh, he's JDM" none of that has ever mattered to me. My car is ugly as sin.....and I love it

yeah i know some people just like the look.. i had friends back in the 90's with CF stuff before the JDM bullshit got popular.. but now days everyone tries to emulate japanese track cars.. just like rodrez said.. hes proud.. hes not trying to follow a trend.. but the reason i express my opinion so much is because most people on this board DO follow the JDM, Carbon Fiber, gauge cluster trend and they are the ones telling everyone else to do exactly what they do.. so i just give my opinion from the bystanders point of view.. only internet JDM heads are gonna see a CF hood on the street and jock it, while other people will say "that guys car looks stupid like that" .. so if u run into the internet trend setters everywhere u go on the street, thats fine if you're building your car for their interest.. but i just give my opinions on how to keep a car clean..

Paint the lip dude, it will look much better. I would paint the lip and cut the middle bar out, personally.

 

i just got a cheezy abs plastic itr lip for my car and painted it my self. it looks pretty good, but the figment sucks.

edit- now i know the diff between real and replica itr lips. get OEM or dont get it at all.

you cant....comptech sales a 94-97 itr knock off lip(from the 97 itr)
and they sale a 98-01 itr lip......which looks like this
