Default Different types of wall-mounted MAP sensors?

I have an '88 Si that flashes a check engine light once a month for about a day then goes away. The computer is showing me 3 red flashes which is a MAP sensor correct? Well a new MAP sensor is $254 and I saw a MAP sensor from an '89 Si on ebay which I picked up for $30. Now the problem is that the MAP sensors are different, the new one has a 36000-PM6-AO2 9B on it where the other is 36000-PM6-AO1-8B. The type of connector for the top left hand sensor is also different. I was under the impression that any wall mounted MAP sensor would work. Is that not true? ANy help is appreciate, thanks.

I have a spare firewall mounted map sensor. You can even use the newer throttle body mounted map sensors. Same 3 plug connector.
