Do a search. Someone posted the same thread a couple of weeks ago. BTW the gsr is a little bit faster. Not too much. But the SI has the grunt off the line.

If the SI is stock you will lose.
However, if you get hondata , header, exhaust, it could be a drivers race.

actually, if u can drive the si right and u go uo againtst a mediocre driver in a gsr, the si will win by a nose or a half a car....Ive done this a couple of times in my si.

Personally the GSR,but the Si is a newer car compared to the GSR and the Si has a factory warranty. As performance goes I have some friends with both cars and here are there 1/4 times:

98 GSR cai/h/e 14.9-15.1
03 Si cai/e 15.3-15.5

I forgot where it was posted but the fastest someone ever ran a stock GS-R was a 14.9 with your not so average driver.

stock the Si should jumo the gsr by a car off teh line as u shift to second the gsr will catch up n by end of third ur seeing gsr headlights.
In my experience (and im a avg driver) i ran a gsr and had him by half a car. mods are hondata and heat shield... for now..

The gsr has and edge as far as torque....but the Si has pretty good top end....

From personal experience....it's all driver....

I had a Si and smoked GSR's....I have vids to prove it.....but then again, it just comes down to how well you can drive...

actually the K20a3 has more torque than the B18c (grs) and peak tq arrives much much quicker than the B18c does..however the GSR has very good gearing and its a lighter which gives it an advantage over the EP Si....the topend on the Si is actually lacking compared to the GSR....

i have to agree with you, i messed around with a friend of mine who has a 98 gsr with a short ram intake on the highway(i have the same mod) and it was close until i had to shift gears then he just kept pulling in 4th and then fifth. by the time he put it into 5th he was 4 car lenths in front.(damn short gears in the si) I would like to see a SI go at it on the highway with a gsr with the SI having hondata to see if that would make a difference.

get a base model 5 speed rsx, and drop the R motor. hahaha.

or not. either way, the k20 technology owns. so your better off with a new civic anyways.

i've seen people posting that their cars feels more powerful and post better times once the engine is broke in.about how many miles does this brake in happen? some poeple posts that their car has hit 10,000 miles on it for an example and the engine is stronger and faster. i have 2500 miles on my car and was just wondering.

i don't know all my ****, but the gsr would win in a race against the EP, its a drivers race between the EK si and the EP, gsr vs. EP is no contest. This guy wants to know which will win a race, we don't need to beat around the bush about the better driver behind the wheel will win.

my brother raced a new SI in his 00 si on the highway and all he had was a shortram and the new si was stock and he beat it. It makes sense the new si only has 160 hp like the older si's and is about 3000 lbs or something, it gives up about 300-350 lbs to the 99-00 si. My friend had a gs-r and it beat the SI so you definitely have to give it up to the gs-r. It's lighter and has 10 more hp.

Doubtful. The GSR will probably win, but it wont smoke it.

only way to really find out is to run one, go for it it should be a good race, but base it on the driver not the car

The GS-R's B18C1 produces 128 lb-ft peak torque @ 6200 rpm.

The EP3's K20A3 produces 132 lb-ft peak torque @ 5000 rpm.

Big difference, huh?

The difference in peak numbers is insignificant. The K20's lower torque peak is helpful, but it is overshadowed by the EP3's disadvantages, such as taller gearing, greater mass and inferior suspension.

Haha, you sound like you are writing a paper for English!

Inferior suspension? Have you driven one? In my opinion, it outhandles my Integra stock for stock.

Taller Gearing? Compared to the GSR, I believe it is higher than its 4.40 and the Si tranny is .....4.74?

I own BOTH of these cars so I can speak with unbiased answers.

(I laugh at people who make opinions on car the and dont even own it, you guys are dumb)
