C Pillar Bar....is it worth it?
I have a 93 civic si h/b w/ a B18C5 and a few other bolt ons. My question is are the EBAY c pillr bars just as good as say J's Racing or EMracing bars? What makes them different.
The bar that goes from one seat belt post to another? If so, I wouldn't waste the money on that - save it for seat time or tires or something.
What kind of racing? If just autocross, it may worth it since you could run a 4/5 point harness.

I think if you're at a point where you're driving so aggressively through twisties that an unbraced chassis is holding you back, you might want to slow down a tad.
Just a thought.
edit: spelling

its most definately worth it.......as long as you need a good clothes hanger pipe for long trips.
other than that....i say invest in beer, or something equally usefull.

My 4 point rollbar served as a spot to hang my dry cleaning from during the week last year... and it kicked serious *** over hte stock hangar hooks.

I amde mine at work, then after installing the rollbar and later removing the c-pillar bar, I think the rollbar made it worthless.
without a rollbar it made a difference though.
not sure on ebay units though. be careful with those. who knows!

Certainly not useful enough to render your back seats useless. Don't attempt to put people back there with one.
I wouldn't imagine that the C-pillars would flex much either, with the roof right there.

Actually I bought the EMRACING one for my EG hatch.
Its the only pillar bar out there with a quick release function so you can remove the bar without any tools. So all the members concerned about passengers dont have to be now.
And yes, I felt a difference . . .not one where I sh*t myself, but enough.
As for those one's on e-bay . . . .no comment

Yes, mine is good for clothes and such in my ITR.......but seriously I am not sure if it does anything or not. It was a gift and probably does work a little. I don't want a cage in my ITR so i think that is one option.

I have the EMR C-pillar bar and it got rid of 99% of the ***-end squeaks in my DA 2-door. It must be doing something. Not only that, but it provides a place for my Tein guy doll to ride...
