More CarGuys VIR pics (plus special B18CXr footage!!!)
Here are a couple of pics I took from this past weekend's three-day event at Virginia International Raceway. First off, it was a good event at a top-notch track. Great course, great facilities. I worked turn 5 on Friday, 12 on Saturday and 16 on Sunday. Here's what I learned.
1) Mazda MX-5's are called "Mee-otters" in S. Va.
2) Spec Mee-otters are really loud
3) Spec RX7's are even louder
4) Wet track = busy workers
On with the pics! Yes, this is a Porsche Boxter sitting on top of the guard rail. Impact 1 of 6 on the weekend:

Incriminating photo of r2x:

Willard running 125-130 mph past my station on the back straight:

Willard checking out Jason's (Darth VadeR) JDM seats:

Lord VadeR's personal ride:

r2x kicking it down the back straight:

Chillin' in the paddock (Note: that's what Volks are supposed to look like):

And last but not least, special footage of our own B18CXr doing tricks for breakfast jacks!

I can vouch for that. Diane hates beer, but is rather fond of Smirnoff Ice! Man, I'm sure glad Jack was doing those tricks as I would have busted my a** on that thing
I keep trying it
, but just CAN'T find one that doesn't SUCK!
So, social drink is Smirnoff Ice, or hard cider type stuff. Drinkin' with a purpose... now that's shots.

Good stuff!
As the NC guys found out a couple weeks ago I'm OK with beer, ... but normally go for a nice red wine (given the chance).
When are you guys making it back up to Summit Point?

6 impacts? Wow. I hadn't heard that. That's gotta be a record for Car Guys.
Anyone know just how that Boxter ended up where he did? That looks like he was going towards the bridge straight, just out of the "left hook - right hook" combination of turns. I'm having a hard time visualizing how he could have backed into *that* tire wall at *that* place on the track.
Karl, who periodically gets Type R envy

when entering the flat esses, he dropped the Drivers rear wheel off drivers left cause he early apexed the right hander entering the esses. after drifting back onto the track, it hooked up and spun him CCW off drivers right, *** first into the armco
