Don't the JDM Headers have an inner pipe and an outer pipe (the outer pipe acts as a heat shield to keep the heat in)? Thats just what Ive heard but I don't think the DC JDM has this. Im not really sure.

I have the DC JDM 4-1 & I love it! Sorry I can't compare the 2 by experience but, I don't see them having a great deal of diff. I would think the only way to know it to strap the car to the rollers. & I think the diff would only be @ diff areas of the RPM range.

DC is a "true" 2.5". the JDM doesn't quite cut it. see the pic...

Yeah the JDM has that inner wall which makes it quite smaller than the 2.5" ID. My DC JDM has a 'true' 2.5" ID. Dont know how that equates in terms of performance.

I drove the stock JDM and now the worked to 2,5`` JDM.
Makes no difference.. Maybe on the dyno, but who cares for dynos ?
Laptimes ad topspeed stayed the same for me

very tru...but this can b delt with...just mod the collector..and also mod the inlets so the welds r on the exterior...and u will have a decent header for the $..and it wont hang as low as the jdm dc..also get that skidplate for extra protection

I took mine to a welder, and he said that he would have to heat the thick part that mates to the head too hot to get a good weld. This could cause it to warp slightly. Also, if the welds aren't good on a header, apparently you can get fire coming out of them.

At the same time, I think the welder I took it to was a ********, so he's probably full of it.

Technically it's stock vs aftermarket, and JDM DC 4-1 is marketed in Japan as an upgrade from stock.

So?

Check those who have tuned their cars with these headers and similar mods. You'll find that they are just about the same. So who really cares if one is stock in Japan and one is not? They achieve similar results.

How can you tell that from a dyno ? A dyno only tells half the truth. I often achieved similar results on a dyno with different mods but the car drove different, esspecially the response when changin gas levels was different. There are other things like quality or clearance that can decide for the customer.
