Just like the title says...I need to know how many ounces of lubricant the Matsu compressor holds...did a search, but no luck.I think it specifies in the owners manual and Helms manual....Haynes manual is no help. Also how much refrigerant the system holds.Any help appreciated very much.
Just replaced mine last week. Was advised that 4 ounces directly in the compressor. If you are adding refrigerant, make sure that the cans you are getting also have oil added to it. I upgraded from the r12 to the r134 for only 35 bucks. Cool as ice!
yeah there should be about 3 or 4 ounces directly in the compressor, don't by the freon with an oil charge in it, it won't cool as good as just straight freon. As for how much freon, it should be on your hood i think its like 2 cans maybe alittle more, but you only use 80% of that if your converting to 134a

Thx guys...I put 4 oz PAG oil thru the low side line and 35 oz R134A in...I believe I overcharged it...seems like my old 89 Teg held about 25 ozs.Worked good with 24 oz in,then when I added another 11 oz,it didnt cool near as good.
