Type R rods better than GSR Rods?
Alright, I have a possible deal for some USDM ITR pistons/rods/piston rings already mounted new for 200, but I want to know if I should just go for some higher compression pistons.
What is the advatanges of the ITR rods, and do I really need them if I am only reving too 8600-8700 with my stage 2 cams in my gsr engine??

You're thinking about the crank. ITR is heavier because it is counterweighted for smooveness at higher RPMs.

Itr Rods are lighter. However if you are changing the rods with the pistons it is necessary to replace the bearings and I am not sure if the Color codes will be the same since the ITR rods had double digits and the GSR rods are single digits.
Since the Crank is a GSR Crank the letters on the crank are A B C D while an ITR Crank is T-Z so that something to think about. Also the Rods and Pistons may be 200 but add in the cost of the bearings and that will rise.

Bah, just plastigauge to check the clearances. I am using shotpeened GSR rods, and they are fine. Everytime I drive my car (which isn't a whole lot), I see 9K +, and I have not had a problem yet
