DIY ctr grill and car pics!!!!!!! midoroi green magic!!!
well, here's the DIY ctr style grill:
1. find a 2 piece grill 96-98 grill....may be on 4dr ex.
2. take it apart, and take the bezel(?) to be color-matched.
3. get some gutter guard from lowes and a can of rustoleum paint.(black)
4. cut out all of the black plastic with the
emblem. leave a clean edge b/c this will now be visible through your grill>>>take your time and use a dremel tool.
5. secure your gutter guard to backplate of the grill and trace shape for opening with a sharpie or other marking utencil.
6. cut out shape and and make sure to leave room for all of the tabs that slide into the bezel. (you'll see) also, leave a few tabs to overhang into the area where the bezel and housing will be screwed back together. this will help keep the insert secure and in place.
-----note: don't overtighten the bezel screws. go around the perimeter like your tightening a valve cover or something....you will see the gaps start to close up!!!!!
7. reinstall and viola. 7 dollar ctr grill!!!!!!

a friend did it for me. he had some scrap CF laying around his old shop, so he cut it out, and attached the vafc with some really good mounting tape.
the only problem is that the buttons on my vafc are sticking really bad, so if someone is gonna mess with it, they either have to push like crazy 10-15x, or else take the CF piece out and hold it securely in their hand. oh well, it doesn't get adjusted very often....
