How to change axles?
I know how to pop the driver side off, the passenger side is prob the same. Not sure about the intermediate shaft thou.
On the driver side:
unstake the axle nut
loosen the axle nut (like breaker bar + pipe or an air/impact gun)
jackup car, set on stands and remove the wheels and axle nut
Undo the bolts holding the brake lines to the struts
Remove the 2 bold holding the caliper on and hang it from the upper control arm or set it down somewhere on a block. Don't let it hang by the brake line.
Pop all of the ball joints (tie rod, upper and lower) loose
Somehow move the knuckle around and tap the axle end w/ a mallet til you seperate the axle from the hub
after you get the knuckle/hub off the axle, get a flat screwdriver and pry at the point where the half-shaft is inserted into the middle section. Sorry, no pictures. =\
That should pop it out. Pop in a new axle and reinstall is the reverse.

Unless it's a special case with the Accord's, you shouldn't need to remove the brake calipers to pop the axles outta the hubs. Just undo the brake line brackets if you need more slack to rotate the knuckle out.
yea, now that i think about it, you might not have to. I was replacing my bearings at the time so the calipers had to come off to pull the rotors off.
but the whole unit will be freakin heavy w/ everything attached to move it around out of hte way. like 40-50 lbs for the knuckle/hub/rotor/bearing/caliper. =P

Yeah, but I've always been able to tie the calipers up somewhere so I don't disconnect the lines.
Be careful NOT to let the calipers hang by their own hoses. That'll probably damage the hoses, they'll be weaker & maybe burst someday...
