I got my M&H slicks today and i was wondering if there anything i should do like drive them down the road a few miles before taking them to the track to get them broken in a little bit, or just run them at the track? Ive never seena pair of slicks off a wheel before and damn these things are really soft and wide!!! Just wanted to thank M&H again for being very helpful and getting these tires to me!

Ok, i tried getting the slicks mounted on a set of stock 13'' honda steel wheels because ive seen otehr people run them at the track, but the people at the tire place said the wheels werent wide enough, how wide do the wheels have to be for a 8'' wide tire???

 

The stock 13 inch steelies are way too small. I believe you shouldn't go over 1 inch or 1.5 inches in respect to width when purchasing slicks for your wheels. Or something like that. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

if u use the measuring device at the tire shop they measure 5.5" but they are actually 5" wide. way too skinny. dont b a cheapass and safety is ur friend.

 

Well i cant afford a drag wheel like welds etc. at the moment, what do you guys suggest i get for wheels that will work with these slicks?

I have a teammate that has a set of 8" wide slicks mounted on the stock steel rims and he's made 20+ passes with no problems at all. I'll admit it does look funny but we've gone as low as 8 lbs. in them so far. It will work just find another shop.
