Default rpm's drop when clutch is pressed

I have a 89 crx with a zc and an si tranny. I am having this problem only when my clutch is pressed. do i need more slack on my clutch cable? I am also getting a code 9 on my ecu. I know i need a new distributor and it idles really bad. My question is will my distributor change fix the problem with the rpm's dropping with clutch engaugement.

check your wiring. the cyl sensor wires could be turned around. on the ZC they are on the other side of the cam from the dist.

Uhhhh I've never driven a car where the rpms didn't drop down to idle speed when the clutch was pressed in.

Me too. Maybe we're not understanding your question.
What exactly is your problem.

Hello again,

I had the same problem, I recently added a short throw shifter and redline MT-90 synthetic manual transmission oil. The shifter came with new bearings and bushings which were shot on my stock shifter. Can't tell if it was one thing or a combo of both but it shifts great and it doesn't feel like my clutch is still engaged at a stop.
