Ok so I had my car tested today and it failed. This is what it read: 15mph test: HC max 66 meas 122, CO max .57 meas .15, NOx max 487 meas 567 fail 25mph test: HC max 49 meas 48, CO max .55 meeas .02, NOx max 774 meas 55 pass fail: system malfunction light due to OBD communication failure fail: system malfunction light due to warning lamp failure This is my set up 97 Civic EX w/ JDM b16a"2" Jdm ITR ECU I/H/E high flow cat. I drove the car for 45min. before the test and let it idle before the test. Had 87 octane in the tank and no check engine lights. The tester said I failed because there was a short in the system. I know it was the JDM ITR ECU though. I now have a few options: 1. Try to pay off a smog tester. 2. Convert to a 99 SI ECU and oil pump. 3. Light my car on fire and collect the insurance. My questions are: why did I fail the 15mph test but pass the 25mph, why would I need a 99 SI oil pump when I swap to the 99 ECU (yes I know I need a jumper for the SI ECU), any one know some one that I can pay off or that will hook another car to the dyno and punch in my numbers? I'm kind of strapped for time (my own fault for waiting till the last min. to have it smogged). Price isn't much of a factor for all the options above, but I think my best bet is to pay some one off! Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! TAI edit: I live in SOCAL and it's a 98 ECU.
