Which is Better
Which is a better deal when making a engine choice, a B16, a Type R, or a GSR B18? If either was to go into a 2nd gen CRX, which would give more horsepower, torque, 1/4 times, reliability, parts, and which would be easiest to work on and install? This would be for a daily driven CRX, also for the occaisional drag. I'm sure this topic has been discussed. Thanks.

From a horsepower and torque standpoint, the TypeR is higher in both. Dropping them in is about the same amount of work for all 3 (I'd say the B16 is a tad bit easier). Keep in mind you'll also need a cable tranny for your swap (not sure if you're buying it complete). There's a huge amount of aftermarket support for all 3.
So I couldn't use the tranny from the Type-R in the Rex? Can the B16 tranny hook up to the Type-R or not? Which tranny has the best ratios for street/strip applications. I heard that the B18 with a B16 tranny is a good combo, but I think thats its for good accleration. What's involed in a hydro-to-cable switch and where could I get one?
The Type-R motor is by fast the best bang for the buck. Contrary to popular belief, it is not as cost effective to buy a GSR and build it to ITR specs. Not that GSR motors are in any way, shape, or form bad motors. Rather, the problem here is that GSR motors are not much cheaper than ITR motors.
