id imagine SMSP making more power (2-3 HP), but for the price, you really cant beat header-tech.

Yea im sure the sms makes a great amount of whp but the 3mont wait and the $1000 price tag was a turn off. That why i chose the header tech,to me for the price and power it makes you couldnt beat it.

exactly.
just about every setup is different from car to car...whether one is a bigger bore...one has an ls crank and the other a gsr or type r crank...one has ctr pistons the other one has jdm itr pistons...one has a mugen intake and the other a comptech intake..one might run no cat...and the other setup trying to pass the sniffer test.

BOTH companies make custom headers for different setups.
the real answer is ...what do you want? ground clearance? smsp has more from what i seen...then again header tech can custom make just about any type of header..so if u want ground clearance i'm sure they'll build you one with it.
both can make side exit headers. smsp also sells cats and full catbacks....
when i IM'd header tech they said they don't make exhausts...just headers.

both companies have many options...i think the main deciding factor is how much
do you wanna spend...do u care for an exhaust or cat...and maybe..do u wanna wait 3 months...

hey guy..not to be an *** but the topic was
smsp or HEADER TECH.
do a search to find out more.
and regarding your opinion with hytech...some guys in the itr forum with real
dyno results would probably beg to differ.
i believe hytech was also working on being smog legal in ca..
which is worth the extra money if you've ever been sent to the smog ref in CA.

I'm going Header Tech. Price is right, Enzo is way cool and willing to help, I can get a header to suit my specific needs. SMSP is good, I won't deny that.. but I'm not willing to wait 3+months, nor can I afford the extra 250 to get one. That is $$$ that I can use for pistons, or whatever. I was looking at AN-R.. but that's a whole other story.

as an FYI...the HyTech NA drag headers are application specific, they are made differently depending upon your engine configuration, and a few other variables, it is not a header you can just borrow from someone and throw on your car to test.

Just wanted to make that correction.

And just fyi ( ) the header that Gordon is currently running is his B18C1 street header with a 2-1/2" collector. He is on the waiting list for a new one that I'll build for his current set up.

Just like Ryan can get away with drinking the fruity drinks at the bar because he's homosexual.
