So, my life is changing, in a big way.

Saturday, I asked my girlfriend Sarah to marry me. After a few seconds of "Oh my God!" when I dropped down on a knee, she said yes. I am very excited about this, and can't wait for it all to go down. I feel I am very lucky, and now I get to have a permanent, live-in, crew chief.

Monday, I got a call from work. They are shutting the place down, effective Thursday, July 31. Ok. Wow. I guess I will just be moving to Atlanta early, and on unemployment. I am not actually all that upset about this part, just kind of thrown for a loop.

So now, racing is being re-evaluated yet again, just as I was about to jump back into the saddle. But, at least the parts of my life away from racing are in a turmoil!

Again, sorta off topic, just had to share with like-minded individuals. (as scary of a thought as that is.)

Congrats dude...that's awesome. When does the ITA car go up for sale And on the Atlanta thing, well you've been wanting out of that job for a while now.

Are they shuttering the whole operation??

 

Congratulations, and hang in there. As someone who was laid off twice in a year, three times in three, I understand putting the racing plans on hold. Just remember there is a difference between living and existing, and plan accordingly.

Thanks/ the car is not for sale!!!! Worst case Scenario is I put it in storage, punt (as you have so aptly put it) on the whole year, and deal.

Fortunately, my fiance (man it is wierd to type that!) REALLY doesn't want me to do that. She said this weekend that I need to race soon, as I am "getting bitchy, you obviously need your fix".

They are only shutting down this office, I may be able to contract with them for a month or two afterward, we are beginning those discussions tomorrow.

I will be spending the month of August, or at least the first few weeks of it, doing that "beer by the pool" thing, I can promise you that!

Friday afternoon...that is why I had to jump real quick and grab her before doctors' offices opened back up Monday.

As for MGs, Matt...there is already one in the family, and an Austin Healy Sprite; isn't that enough punishment?
