Default 96-98 civic EX dizzy work with PM6 ecu

I just put in a mini swap in my crx si. I first tried using the PM6 dizzy but the car wouldnt start. I read somewhere on the net that if you are using the Y8 head you dont have to modify the PM6 dizzy. Now I'm trying to wire up the Y8 dizzy and need the wire diagram for the PM6. Does anyone know how to make the PM6 dizzy work or have the wire diagram. Here is the pins that I need to know where they go:

B15, B2orC2, C1, B16, B10orC10, C9, B8, B9.(PM6 ecu)

I have a couple books one for the crx only tells me the color of the wire and what pin it goes to on the ecu, the other is for the Civic and it tells me the color of the wire, and the internal wire diagram for the dizzy. Here is the wire diagram for the 96-98 Y8 dizzy:

Org-CYPP
Wht-CYPM
Org/Blu-TDCP
Wht/Blu-TDCM
Lt Blu-CKPP
Lt Blu/Yel-CKPM
Blu-goes to the Tach gauge
Yel/Grn-ICM
BLk/Yel- goes to the Ign switch

I did more search and someone said that they dont think a D16Y8 dizzy will work with the PM6 ecu because the ecu is OBD0 and the dizzy is OBD2. I dont see how that would matter as long as you wire the Y8 dizzy the way the PM6 dizzy was wired. I've compared both dizzy and they both have the same sensors in it. But the wires are different colors. I'm going to try to wire it up like below and see what happens. Hopefully nothing will blow up . I'm going to hook a fuse to each wire just to be safe hopefully the dizzy wont burn up.

Function:-----------------PM7 (7pin dizzy)----D16Y8

CKP+============WHT=========LT BLUE/Yel
CKP-============ORG=========LT BLUE
TDC+============ORG/BLU======ORG/BLU
TDC-============WHT/BLU======WHT/BLU
CYP+============BLU/GRN======ORG
CYP-============BLU/YEL=======WHT

ICM=============The other WHT===YEL/GRN

RPM OUTPUT========BLU=========BLU
IGN SWITCH========BLK/YEL======BLK/YEL

Does this sound like a good idea? Still looking for any suggestions or anybody that has done this or modified thier PM7 dizzy to work with the D16Y8 head.

That's right. The OBD-1 and OBD-2 distributors supply the ECU with a different signal than the OBD-0 PM6 is going to look for. If you do wire it up it's going to run like poopy. The sensors appear to be the same, but they aren't. as far as I remember, the wheels on the CYP sensors have different numbers of teeth on them.

The PM6 distibutor WILL bolt right on to your Y8 head and will work fine if you do the wiring correctly.

Yes your right it did not work I wasnt even getting spark. I put the PM6 on but the car still doesnt start but at least Im getting spark. ECU LED is blinking six times for the coolant temp sensor. I checked the wire broke right at the connector so I have to find a new connector but would that keep the car from starting? I also found a gas leak and on oil leak. I must of done a crappy swap

What fuel injectors are you tring to use?

The basic rule is that all things being mechanically sound,
an engine only needs three things to run: Fuel, Spark and compression.
If spark is good, then it has to be fuel.

Fuel, spark, compression, and timing. That may not be a problem here, but if your timing is way out, it won't run.

I can smell fuel on the spark plugs. I'm using the Y8 intake manifold so I had to swap all the harness for each injector. There was another harness that I had to swap it was the same kind as the injectors. It looks like it goes to a sensor it has a line coming from the intake manifold and goes through the sensor then another hose that comes out and I dont have a clue where that one goes to so I pluged it. On the PM7 intake manifold that same senor is inside the manifold so I think that hose is suppose to feed back to the manifold. But I dont think that will cause it not to start.
I have not checked compression yet but I think its the timing. When I'm using the PM6 dizzy the flat is up. I'm pretty sure I've got the spark plug wire in order.

If you are using the y8 injectors, then you need to remove the injector resister
box. Its the aluminum part that looks like a heatsink, found on the drivers side
shock tower. Just remove the box, then you will need to connect all 5 wires in the plug together.

Or, just use your stock injectors. Might be easier to remove the resister box,
since you already swapped out the injector portion of the harness.

The 88-91 injectors are peak & hold, and require a resister box to work.
The 92+ injectors are saturated, and do not need the resistance that the
resister box provides. I dont have time to go into it further, but i suggest you do
a search on peak & hold, and saturated. Should help clear a few things up.

Hey, now I know ther is a post about the peak and hold and saturated but whats the difference, and what are DSM injectors? Sorry about the question, just want to figure out the difference. TIA
