My first HPDE
Well some of you may have noticed that I escaped grid for a whole session this past weekend at Hyperfest. Many thanks to Chris for giving me the ok, Brian Maeng for letting me borrow his Integra, and Evan for being crazy enough to sit in the passenger seat with me.
It truly was a great time, being able to finally drive around the track at a decent rate of speed was an eye opening experience. The "Go-Fast" crack pipe doesn't have a good grip on me just yet though, but I must admit the thought of actually finding a CRX shell for the engine I already have did get bumped up a few notches on priority list.
Actually sitting in a car on grid instead of being the one walking down and checking the drivers was different to say the least. I was almost tempted to start yelling at Mike, John, and Chuck about the time it was taking to get us on track just because I could. When we got out on the pace lap Evan started talking to me about the track and how he wanted me to drive, and some early suggestions/expectations for certain turns. Having one of my good friends next to me definitely calmed a lot of the butterflies I had. He gave me a lot of input on how to take certain turns, and certainly had no problem letting me know when I’d done something wrong. By the end of the session I’d smoothed out a couple of the turns semi-consistently, but obviously had a lot of work to do. Evan says that I did pretty good for my first time ever on track, but I definitely have a lot to learn.

hahaha, well I wasn't actually being evaluated, so there's no chance for that to happen.

actually I went ahead and gave him his comp license. He is at least as good a driver as those 944 cup guys.
now I hope he just doesnt whine about getting "screwed over", get *****-whipped, and drop out of racing.

Your shot at Drew was much more entertaining than your shot at me... but perhaps I'm biased.
edit: with his newly awarded comp license, maybe he should forget his CRX dreams and buy a 944. he would win cash and prices if he's that good!
