Curious: What is needed for a SS to S Tranny Swap?
I know some people are gonna flame and be jerks about this post... but what would it take, and what would be the parts list for a tranny swap (SportShift to Base)?
I ask only because I hear swapping the 5th Gen h22a tranny is terribly difficult. and wouldn't mind some extra insights.

they have the thing you want.....save u about a grand too...u'll be able to handle the power increases of 100hp+ the tranny can hold a 75 shot of nitrous perfectly right now...

Thanks. I'm aware of what levelten has to offered, but just weary because I've not heard or seen of their applications on Honda. Their Supra's seem solid, but I still don't know about Honda's.
Do you have a link or know anyone that has their kit on a Prelude, or a Honda in general?
(This was my first option, but I've got a guy who might do the swap for a good low price if I can find all the parts.)
Let me know if you got a thread link or know someone who has expereince with Levelten honda apps.

If you are going to change your Sport Shift to a Standard, its not even worth it. You're have to buy too much ****. It would've been easier just to buy one instead.
You're stating the obvious. But do you actually know the list of "****" (as you put it) that I would need?
Tranny, clutch pedal, linkage, ecu... what else?

Scope out your car. Does the firewall have the holes to accept the clutch MC? Is there a hole for the shift cables? Is the tranny mount the same, or the rear engine mount? These are some of the things that made it easy on my third gen. If you get a shop manual, you can pretty much figure out what you'll need, then check part numbers to see if some auto stuff is compatible. If you want I can make a general list of stuff that I KNOW you would need. It's gonna be pretty expensive when you add it all up. A fifth gen tranny is probably $$$, try to find a used one. I did it all myself, so labor wasn't an issue, but it will be lots if you have someone else do it. What was your hookup offering to charge?

Yeah a general list would be great man, and much appreciated. I've got a shop manual (I call it my second bible), but I don't understand squat in the transmission section as of now. I'll check it out though; never crossed my mind to peruse that book for some answers. Perhaps I'll let my guy borrow it to figure things out also.
Definitely interested in a used tranny. I found a guy a little north of me who has a inventory of h22a engines and trannies.
How long did it take you to do your swap?
My hook-up price is not yet determined. Its not a hook-up persay, but just a friendly reasonably no overcharging the dumb guy price. Oh, don't know it yet.. dude is sourcing out the parts and researching the labor.
Thanks
Also. Anyone got resources or links of someone who has level ten on their honda?

The parts list is very long and the only way to do it economically would be from a salvaged Prelude. Even then the project has a very high cost. This topic seems to be revisited a lot and the answer keeps coming up--trade it in and get the car you really want--much more cost effective in the end.

i don't remember who owned the car but i know that a while back there was a turbo'd civic with an auto and d-series running 12's and i know levelten did the work on his trans.
Level ten is the next person I am gonna call. Get there bullit proof kit and stall torque converter. it would be a nice improvement. And if I am not mistaken can't you get custom gear ratios?
